Formation

The Australian province of the Society of the Divine Word (SVD) forms part of the international community accepting full responsibility for the vision of our Society.

In our formation programme we like to promote and internalise our vision and goals at each of the different stages of formation. The missionary mandate determines the form of our religious life and the spirit of the evangelical counsels permeates our missionary work.

For a vocation to develop fully, formation must be balanced and holistic, rooted in one's own culture, community forming, directed towards apostolic service and open to the needs of the world today.

Our formation programme is the most multicultural in our Society.
Attention is paid to the basic spirituality given by our founder, Saint Arnold Janssen.
